ENGLISH IIStudents in this class will be held to a high standard of academic integrity. In fact, our first lesson will be analyzing what academic integrity is and how to encourage it in all students.
Cheating of any kind (copying homework, sharing test questions, plagiarism, airdropping assignments, etc) will not be tolerated. Consequences will be immediate and non-negotiable. |
Cheating: • The use of a cell phone during class at any time with out EXPLICIT permission from the teacher will be considered cheating. • Airdropping assignments is cheating. Changing the font and adding two words doesn't make it "your work." • Copying and pasting from the internet is cheating. • Having other windows or documents open during testing is cheating. • Copying someone's homework (or texting them for answers) is cheating. • Taking photos of assignments, tests, or quizzes and sharing them with others is cheating. • Looking at someone else's paper or computer screen during a test or quiz is cheating. • Talking during a test or quiz to anyone other than a teacher (to ask a question) is cheating. • Sharing test or quiz information with students in classes after your class is cheating. |
"It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them."
-Mark Twain
Consequences:
• Students caught in any of the above acts will receive a zero on the assignment. • Students sharing the answers/assignments are equally as guilty as those receiving this "help." Both students will receive a zero. • In the event of a project or assignment that is comprised of multiple pieces, cheating (of any type) on any one piece will result in a zero for the ENTIRE work. • When a student receives a zero due to any type of cheating, no alternate assignment or opportunity to retest will be given. The zero will stand. • When a student receives a zero due to any type of cheating, that student forfeits any opportunity for extra credit for the remainder of that grading period. |
Download the article to the right and annotate. We will do the first paragraph together so you'll have a better understanding of annotation.

If you do not take care of this on your own, you will be required to come to POWER U to complete it. The grade on this article will replace the 75 (or lower). This is not optional.
The Article: PLEASE be mindful of the article you choose to complete. You may see more articles that I have not assigned.
