Assignment Four: Revealing a Character
There are five ways for an author to reveal a character to the reader.

Assignment Five: Themes
Part One: Using your notes on theme (and the theme tab we reviewed) choose ONE THEME stem you feel best fits the play. Write that stem into a complete sentence and support it with three or more pieces of evidence, You need to complete this in Word and attach on Schoology.
Part Two: Using your part one "notes" write a thematic analysis. In paragraph form (1-2 should be enough) explain your chosen theme and support with evidence. Be as specific as you can-using quotes should help! This should be submitted on Schoology and is due by Tuesday, September 8th at the start of your class.

Assignment Six: Apparitions After you read/watch Act IV scene i, download chart from Schoology and complete the boxes based on the apparitions and the final vision.
HOMEWORK: Assignment Seven: Take a look at the two videos of Act V scene i. Compare the four different film versions of Act V scene i, Lady Macbeth's last scene of the play. Pay attention to the differences in the way the scenes are set. Which characters are included or omitted?
By the time you have watched both/all of these, you should be an expert on Lady Macbeth's final moments on stage! Then, read Act V scenes ii and iii. You should understand what has happened with Lady Macbeth and Macbeth's current state of mind based on the news that an army is coming!!! |

A) With the groups (of five) of your choice, answer the questions linked to the right. Only one group member needs to record your answers. B) INDIVIDUALLY, copy and paste Malcolm's final speech (the original version) into a word document. Export as a PDF and annotate it. Follow your own annotation guidelines but make sure you follow the outline provided by me. Do a thorough job. |

Assignment Nine: 60 Second Macbeth
With groups of 5/6, create a 60 second version of the Act you've been assigned. Use the handout to guide your efforts. Bonus points will be awarded for accurately using your vocabulary words in your script. You will AIRDROP your video to me on Tuesday (9/27) at the start of class. Any videos not submitted by the end of warm up will be penalized 10 points. It must be named with one group member's name and your Act number! |
